Housewife’s corpse rejected by husband, family and boyfriend after birth of twins

A 35 year old housewife in Lagos, Joy Bakare reportedly died mysteriously a few days ago, after she was delivered of a set of twins, on Aya-Oye Street, Ejiigbo, a suburb of Lagos.

She was found dead after foaming from her mouth on a bed in one of the rooms in the flat.

It was alleged that after she got pregnant, her married lover, Fatai, took her to the home of a single mother (names withheld) in Aya-Oye Street, Ejigbo, to cover up the shame.

Before she became pregnant for Fatai who resides at Abaranje in Ikotun area,  Joy already had three children from an estranged husband who resides in Surulere area.

A neighbour, Iya Kubirat, who spoke to  Vanguard said

 “I can’t say what was responsible for her death because the incident occurred a few days after she was delivered of the babies in a hospital and was brought back to the woman’s flat. She was found dead, foaming in her mouth on top of a bed in one of the rooms in the flat.“When the woman who harboured her in the flat heard the babies crying, she went to Joy’s room to find out what was happening only to discover that Joy was dead. She raised an alarm which attracted neighbours. I was among the people who rushed to the flat. The cause of Joy’s death could not be immediately ascertained as there was no report of autopsy from any doctor.”

However, trouble started after the woman who harboured Joy contacted her husband and family members and they rejected her corpse. She then contacted Fatai who later went to the place and also refused to take responsibility for her burial.

It was gathered that Fatai explained that he did not marry her as his wife and as such, would not accept the corpse for burial, even though he was the father of the twins.

The deceased’s corpse was later deposited at Isolo General Hospital mortuary after Joy’s elder sister arrived.Meanwhile, the twin babies were handed over to Fatai who took them to his house at Ikotun.

UNILORIN Students Nab Two Thieves During Night Class | Photos

The self acclaimed ‘better by far’ university had its own share of domestic thieving on the early hours of Tuesday, 2nd June 2015.

At about 3:40am, chants of ‘thief’, ‘ole’ were heard from a very large number of students who were studying overnight for their next examinations probably that same morning.
Two boys were apprehended by the students, accusing them of the theft of 2 Mobile Phones which included a New UNILORIN tablet.

The boys were mobbed by the angry students before taking them forcefully to the Security Unit who took over the matter from there.

Judging by the school’s rules and regulations, the penalty for such act of theft ranges from rustication to possible expulsion.

Nollywood actors fight over N3m 'political' largesse

The recent visit of First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan to Enugu has left a big scar on Nollywood.This is because the police in Enugu are currently looking for ways to settle the bitter feud that engulfed the artistes’ community in the state over how an alleged First Lady’s largesse would be shared among top actors who at­tended her rally.

 

This feud has seemingly put one group known as Nollywood Apostles against other stakeholders in Enugu State led by

 

Patience Ozo­kwor popularly known as Mama G, making it very difficult for the center to hold.

As at last Thursday, some of Nollywood’s big wigs involved were still angry and had refused to show up at the Police Area Com­mand, Abakpa Nike, Enugu where the case was domiciled. 

 

 The Area Commander had arranged for them to settle the matter amicably.

Checks reveal that Nollywood Apostles comprising some of the best faces in the movie industry including Steve Ajebo Eboh, Charles Awurum, Emeka Enyiocha, Bene­dict Johnson, Chinwe Owoh, and Ngozi Ezeonu among others had been featuring at several PDP campaign rallies including the one that brought Dame Jonathan to Enugu.

According to a source, trouble started after the departure of the First Lady when facilitators of the rally, Patience Ozokwor and Chinyere Wilfred were on stage giving the vote of thanks.

 An aide to Dame Jona­than had allegedly dropped a parcel contain­ing N3 million into the hands of one of the actors, which he quickly cornered with the con­nivance of his fellow ‘Apos­tles’. But the cookies crumbled when the aide called Mama G aside and intimated her of the monetary gift and to whom it was handed.

“The real drama started when the actor who collected the parcel was about to zoom out of the venue in his car. Mama G re-enacted her screen roles for real. In her view, the money was meant for all the stakehold­ers who graced the rally and not only for the Nollywood Apostles. Mama G stood in the way of the car, yelling and ask­ing to be crushed just as she sent someone to call the police. She didn’t mind being called witch, ashawo and all sorts of unprint­able names. She blocked the car until the police came and took all the parties to the station,” a source says.

However, Steve Eboh has denied ever being involved in such a show of shame. He told Entertain­er:

 “I never had anything to do with any money or anything like that. Don’t mind them, my brother. As I speak with you now, I am on my way to see Father Ede in Elele, Rivers State.”

For Charles Awurum, who later returned this reporter’s call after several phone calls made to him, it was denial all the way. Hear him: “I don’t know about any issues concerning Dame Jonathan’s money. I am in Port Harcourt now, please.”

On her part, Patience Ozokwor confirmed the story but she wouldn’t want to elaborate further, until after the elections. “The police have invited everyone to the station for settlement,” she volunteered.

Less than an hour that a bomb exploded at a polling unit in Enugu, a similar incident has occurred in Awka, Anambra State.

The Anambra explosion took place at Atom a polling unit at Umuokpara Primary School, Awka ward one.

Talking about the substance, Terry G said it was cocaine but he found out that it didn’t “work” for him even after he used it, so he decided to quit.He said

“I am the first born of my family and I felt it would not be good to continue with such. Also, God has blessed me with enough energy. My fans know me to be very energetic and I believe that anything that could slow me down can kill me. I spoke to myself because the substance normally slowed me down and I decided to stop it. While I indulged in it, nobody knew because I know how to control myself,I cut off all relationships that I had with that set of people. We stopped communicating. I have never bought it before in my life, so it was easy to stop once I cut those people off.”

President Jonathan,his wife and mother have so far been unable to be accredited as the card reader has failed..The president is in his home town Otueke in Bayelsa state..He arrived at the polling unit at 9.19 am and is still unable to be accredited..

Three card readers have failed and they just brought the fourth one..

UPDATE-President Jonathan and his wife finally left the polling Unit after the fourth card reader failed .On his way out, he said if he could endure, he pleads with all Nigerians to be patient and vote..He emphasized the need for the elections to be free and fair..

INEC confirmed he and the first lady were unable to be accredited .They are expected to return to the polling unit..

Meanwhile, there have been several reports on social media about card reader failure in various polling units..Affected persons still vote after filling incident forms..

The 2015 presidential elections have kicked off and so far it has been going on peacefully except in some states such as Enugu and Osun state.

Currently, while a bomb blast is said to have gone off in Enugu at a polling boot, Osun has been reported to be witnessing some violence and one person has been allegedly killed during the violence.
